Members enjoyed a delicious meal at KS on the Keys and enjoyed an informative and entertaining talk by 7040 District Governor Claude Laliberte. Claude turned the typical approach to inviting new members on its ear. He suggested that rather than look for volunteers to fill in slots and work for Rotary, first ask what we can do for them. Listen to people and learn what interests them, and through that process you may well attract an interested and community-minded member. Our Assistant DG, Hadi Mortada also joined us for lunch (and took many of the photos!). President Dawn Cooper presented Claude and Hadi with a cheque for $1,000 for Rotary International's Polio Plus program. We were grateful to have Gina St. Amour, Executive Director of the Ottawa Rotary Home visit to tell us more about their new Adult Respite Program, which they've been quite successful at sustaining over the past year. They rely on donations for this program and we were happy to present a cheque for $5,000.
