Announcements
  • Joan spoke of the final meeting of the District Conference and there was a scramble to put together a booklet of sponsors. Scott put this together and apparently, did a super job under a time constraint. The Conference begins on Friday afternoon and there are still a few spots left. Please join us! We are still accepting bottles of wine for a gift basket to be auctioned off at the silent auction. Joan has donated three pieces of needlepoint art for the auction.
  • Peter notified Hunt Club that we will be meeting there the first Wednesday of every month.  The rest of our meetings will be held at KS. The schedule of meetings are all updated on our website. Also, Bobby has offered us a locker at KS to store our banners, etc.
  • We will be making sandwiches at The Mission either on November 23rd or 30th. This date has to be clarified. There will be no meeting that week as it will be replaced with The Mission activity.
  • Jeff and team delivered 44 dictionaries to Charles Hulse School. The children were very receptive and happy to receive the books. Sam was able to help out by speaking to the kids in Arabic. A fun event! Check out the photos here.
  • Jeff is also involved in the Junior Achievement program at John McCrae High School. There are 30 kids in the program from grades 9-12. The kids are very engaged and are learning some great skills. Jeff is involved 4 hours a week on Tuesday afternoons. It’s a big commitment but well worth the effort.
  • Ian and Monique, Mac and his wife attended the Harvest Moon evening at Wabano Centre. It was a cultural evening with great food and the guest speaker was Ron James. It was a great evening supporting a great cause.
  • Rotell AGM – Nov. 9th at KS
  • Our AGM – Dec. 14th at KS
  • Christmas Party – Saturday, December 17th at KS. It will run from 10-2 pm and it is a breakfast buffet.
  • No happy bucks or 50/50 this week.
