After a job well done, President Joan Hunter presents Mother's Day Roses committee chair Melissa White with, what else, flowers!
With Melissa White at the helm, the Rotary Club of Ottawa South sold roses for Mother's Day. For many years the RCOS has sold the roses as a fundraiser, and this year Melissa took the leadership role. A dozen extra-long stem roses with individual water supplies, boxed in tissue with babies breath and wrapped with a red ribbon, for $40. And that even includes delivery in Ottawa! An exceptional price that allows people to show their love and appreciation for mom, a partner, friend, staff, etc. Thanks to generous discounts by the florist, the club is able to raise almost $20 per dozen sold.

The roses are delivered the Friday before Mother's Day, with volunteers running across the city with boxes of roses in their cars. It's wonderful to see the smiles and faces of the recipients light up. See some of the photos.
