Jeanine commented that today is World Toilet Day and there are 4.2 billion people without safely managed sanitation. Along the same lines, tomorrow is World Children's Day and we still have child brides, kids without schooling and kids without clean drinking water.
The Early Bird pricing for DisCon22 ends on November 30, so act quickly and save $50. The conference is May 6 and 7, 2022. Enjoy an actual in-person experience with great speakers, sessions and hundreds of Rotarians to meet and share ideas.

THE FOUR-WAY TEST
Dave shared the origins of the Four-Way Test and then Teresa read them for us.
The test was written and first applied by Herbert Taylor for the Club Aluminum Company in 1932. Taylor was a member of the RC of Chicago. The Company prospered with the guidance of the Test, and Taylor grew within Rotary.
Rotary International adopted the Four-Way Test in 1943, and when Taylor was RI President in 1954, he donated the copyright to Rotary.
Rotarians, and the organizations they guide, have benefited from the Four-Way Test for many decades. A simple and ethical approach that is worth remembering and using often.
Many new members, who have transferred from other Rotary Clubs, were officially welcomed today to the Rotary Club Ottawa South. (Refer to previous RoTell issues to meet the members.)
Today was the Rotel Foundation Inc annual general meeting. The corporation is a non-profit with all members of the Rotary Club of Ottawa South as members of the corporation. Laird Rasmussen, Chairman the Board for 31 years, ran an efficient meeting and brought members up to date on the year that COVID has wrought. This marked Laird's last meeting as he is retiring from the Board after a much appreciated and very long term. Laird was officially thanked for his tremendous volunteer commitment and successfully guiding Rotel through many challenges over the years. (Pictured l-r: Gary Pluim, Joan Hunter, Laird Rasmussen, Suzy Harrison, Dave Gough). Not present at the meeting, but much appreciated, Bob Kelson is also retiring from the Board after providing decades of sound financial guidance to Rotel.
