Announcements
Rosemary thanked the Club and updated us regarding our donation of Giant Tiger gift cards for the Salvation army Christmas hampers. We have donated $3,000 and GT will add an additional 5% (down from 7% last year and 10% in previous years). Rosemary will purchase $25 and $50 cards, giving a maximum of $75 to families. No need for additional volunteers, Rosemary will hand out the gifts as she sees families over the next few weeks. Jonny is providing a card from RCOS to accompany each GT gift card.
Ian revised upcoming events:
- 5 December - Janine will tell us about a Uganda project her Nova Scotia Rotary Club had initiated
- 8 December – Family Christmas Brunch at KS – 1:00 am – 1:00 pm
- 12 December – No lunch meeting
- 19 December RCOS AGM
- 26 Dec and 2 Jan - no meeting
Christmas Kettle day is Saturday, December 1 from 10am - 9pm at the South Keys Loblaws. Thank you to those who have volunteered; the schedule is below.
50/50 – Scott handled the 50/50 draw; Jacques had the lucky ticket, but fished out a King rather than the Joker (in life, it is typically the other way around).
Rotel AGM
The gavel was handed over to Rotel Board Chair, Laird Rasmussen for an informative, and notably efficient, meeting.
Due thanks was given to Suzy for her proficient management of Rotel. Fun fact: in Rotel's 33 years, only two people have managed the facility: Monique Warrack and Suzy Harrison. The Club is fortunate to have such capable people involved with the facility.
President Joan ended the meeting slightly before 1:30 pm.
