50/50 Draw
Peter and Melissa had the winning ticket, with winning smiles to match, but the grinning ebbed as a three of diamonds was drawn. The Joker hides as the pot rounds $180.

Happy Bucks
Scott Vetter collected our happy bucks.

Guest Speaker
Warrant Officer Sammy Sampson

Sammy is a well-decorated army vet, having served on 8 missions and 7 tours in many countries. Since his retirement he has worked in IT and as a private consultant, including with the PMO. He now spends much if his time working for health and safety advocacy for deployed troop and vets.

That consulting work has given him the opportunity to learn quite a bit about our government and the role of Parliament, and he shared some fascinating facts with us. For instance, only 6 Parliamentarians are on a committee that decides whether Canada deploys its military might.

A very engaging speaker, Sammy gave a very interesting and thoughtful presentation.

President Alex ended the meeting promptly at 1:30pm.
