Alex ran the meeting as Joan was sick today.
Captain Jeff Arkell from The Salvation Army Ottawa Citadel will speak to us on Wednesday, 17 October re: The Christmas Kettle Campaign for 2018.
Alex informed us of Quora's Night at the Races, at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday Oct 28, 6pm. Cost is $68 and you'll receive a tax receipt for half. Let Alex know asap if you are attending so seats can be reserved.
Rosemary attended the Ottawa West Rotary Club with Capt. Jeff Arkell (from the Salvation Army) to accept a donation of clothing from the Rotary E- Club Premier and the Rotaract Club de L'isle de Montreal. The clothing was donated to help the tornado victims in the Ottawa area.
Mo’s number was drawn for 50/50 but the joker remains in the deck. Better luck next time, Mo.
Guest Speaker: Brad Lamoureux
Our speaker today was our very own Brad Lamoureux, Marketing Director at The Waterford Retirement Residence. Brad enjoys the family environment at the residence.
The building has been open now for 1.5 years. There are still vacancies available and Brad was saying it will take approximately 3 years to fill all the rooms.
If you have not visited the facility, Brad would be happy to give you a tour. It has many beautiful facilities (ie. salt water pool, an arbour with a retractable roof) and lots of activities for the residents.
Brad and Ian discussed the possibility of having one of our meetings at the residence in the very near future. Thank you Brad for sharing with us today.
Secretary Alex ended the meeting promptly at 1:30.
