Announcements

The Ottawa Cluster Environment Group has invited our club to an Environmental Cafe 613 Evening on Tuesday, October 29th at 7:30 pm at the Baha'i Centre at 211 McArthur Ave.

The featured topic for the evening is a presentation and participatory game designed to help us understand better how everyday choices affect our carbon footprint.  Our speaker is Bill Nuttle, retired environmental engineer, member of the Glebe community association environment committee, and energy efficiency advocate.

We need your help to attain our Environmental Sustainability Award!!

One of the criteria for our club to attain an award in Environmental Sustainability Commitment is for  50% or more of Club Members to participate in the “Carbon Footprint Challenge”.  Please join us next Tuesday evening!!

The carbon footprint pledge aims to create awareness and to get the conversation going about things each of us can do to reduce our carbon emissions.

October 23, 2024 - Zoom Meeting
Topic: World Polio Day (October 24, 2024)

Rotarians around the world are using World Polio Day as an opportunity to showcase the current status of the eradication effort and what steps are still needed  to achieve a world free of all polio viruses. Rotarians have contributed more than 2 billion dollars to eradicating polio and countless volunteer hours to help the cause. The finish line is in sight but it won't be easy to cross the line. Wars, climate disasters and a global pandemic are some of the obstacles that have gotten in the way. Please view the video below, as Bill Gates thanks Rotarians for their efforts in polio eradication.
